Wedding and more wedding.......

This past weekend, I took advantage of my slow weekend to get a few projects done.

One of which was the boutonnieres for all the men. They have burlap 'leaves' in the back with a few feathers, a loop of ribbon, and a fishing lure. The picture doesn't do them justice!

I also made the bridesmaid gifts! I can't post a picture seeing how they see this blog!

List of things to still do:

Finalize the catering menu (Already on the books!)
Get shoes dyed
Get dress altered
Pick music
etc...
etc..
etc.

Much more to do!!

Wedding Shoes!

I decided that for the wedding ceremony, I wanted really cute yellow high heels. Easier said than done! After searching online and in stores and still not coming up with cute bright shoes, I have decided that I will buy white ones and have them dyed bright yellow. I'm talking lemon yellow! Just a few days ago, the shoes came in the mail!!

I am very happy with them!

P90X Update

Tuesday was our first day doing a P90X workout which was the arm and back track. It included a lot of push ups, pull ups, and weights! Good work out! Mike and I both agreed that although they are tough work outs, they only last about 45 mins (not including stretching) and the time seems to go by fast. We were so pose to do the ab ripper X (which is only 15 mins) right after the arm and back track, but the tv show 'Deadliest Catch' was coming on and if you watch that show, you know it was a good episode! ha ha!! So we skipped the Abs.

Wednesday, Mike had a good-bye dinner for a co-worker and the boss's house. By the time we left, it was around 8:30. Instead of doing a full workout, we decided to do the ab ripper X that we missed the previous night. The video is only 15 mins, but don't let that fool you! It's 15 mins non stop!

Thursday after work, I went to the gym and did a weight class. (to back up a little, Wednesday, my left arm hurt, but I assumed it was just normal 'work out pain' and didn't think much of it). Well after the gym, I realized that my arm wasn't hurting due to normal work out pain. I believe I pulled a muscle. My arm was very sore (I couldn't straighten it) and was very swollen. Because of my arm, I didn't want to work it any more than I had to. For Thursday's P90X workout, we did the Plyometrics video which is all jumping, moving, high knees, ets. Lots of Cardio! the video was almost an hour and it was intense! Mike and I couldn't keep up with the pros, but we did our best and felt very good about it.

This weekend, we will be traveling out of town, which we will take a break from the work out.... We'll be back on the horse Monday when we return!

Have a good 4th of July!! See you when I return!

New Changes, New Body??

Yesterday, Mike and I kicked off the P90X with a fitness test. Not to bore you will all the results, here are a few of mine:

Vertical - 14 inches
Push up (on the toes) - 25
Bicep Curls - 20 @ 10 lbs in each hand
Total amount of calories needed for this program each day - 2,196!

I went to the store last night and bought 'good food'. Last night, we splurged on McDonald's one last time... good bye fries....

I also cooked breakfast and lunch last night! (I was up late). After looking at the 'menu' P90X suggested, Mike and I have come up with a way to 'tweak' it. We refuse to throw away any food that we have already bought just because it is not on 'the menu'. We will incorporate it in moderation. I have cut out all soda (not that I drank very much) and all coffee. Mike can't cut out the soda cold turkey, so he has cut back to one a day (and for anyone who knows him, he is a soda hound!)

Today breakfast was a mushroom omelet with a side of fresh strawberries. The omelet called for 6 egg whites, 3/4 cup of mushrooms sliced, 2 tablespoons of green onions, salt and pepper to taste, 1 1/2 oz of cheese, and tomatoes. For those who really know me, I'm not a tomato kind of person so I left that out. I also really don't care for mushrooms, so I cut them into small pieces.

My feeling on the breakfast - no good! I was starving this morning, and I think that is the only reason I forced myself to eat it!! ha ha. I also got a call from Mike saying, "I appreciate you staying up and cooking for me, but it was not good at all!" ha ha!!! I guess we'll be crossing that off the menu!

The program also calls for a protein bar between breakfast and lunch. Because I have never eaten protein bars, I bought a few different brands/flavors to test them out. Today I'm trying Odwalla's chewy nut bar - Sweet & Salty Almond. I've been warned that protein bars are not very good tasting, so we'll see!
For lunch, we are having a salad with strawberries, slices of turkey and ham, with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I don't see how you can go wrong with that!

Tonight is the first work out DVD.

Also, tonight, I'm meeting with another florist for the wedding. Let's hope this meeting goes well and I can cross that off the wedding To Do List!

P90X

Today is the official start to the P90X program. Mike and I agreed to do this together in preparation for the wedding (less than four months left!)

We are going to take pictures of day 1, day 30, day 60, and day 90. I'm not going to post pictures until I have a before and after. Who would want to see just a before picture??!!

Today, we will complete a fit test to see where we are starting from. I'll be sure to post those results. My plan is to keep the blog updated on our progress - hopefully that will also keep me motivated for the full 90 days. I've heard from several that this program is not to be taken lightly, and I'm actually really excited about that.

There is also a nutrition plan that comes with the program. I've reviewed the materials and they give you a meal plan that is easy to follow with recipes. The hard part for me will be getting the food and preparing it every night for the next day. I went ahead and bought a 'lunch bag' so that I can pack my lunch for work each night.

I'm excited for the next 90 days - lets just hope it doesn't kill me!!

Wedding Favors

The results are in!!!

When asked last week what your opinion was on wedding favors, here's what you said:

It is a must - 0
I could go either way... - 7
I never take one with me when I leave - 6

Looks like wedding favors may get cut off the list!!

Thank you to everyone (all 13) who voted!

Wedding Favors.

Are wedding favors a must??

While planning for the wedding, I have tried to come up with a wedding favor idea, and I'm stuck. Do people really care?? Wedding favors aren't cheap! Some advice was to have wedding favors for each couple, but how do you control that? Create a sign that says 'One per couple'??

I have decided to have a poll and get reader's opinions.

I'll wait until Friday for the final results! Thanks in advance for helping out!
