It's been a while....

So I have been crazy busy for the last.... year (or so it seems)! Two weekends ago, Mike and I traveled to south Florida to see his parents, then traveled over to Boca Raton for a buddies wedding. Last weekend, we traveled to Santa Rosa Beach (right outside of Destin, FL) for our neighbors wedding. Both weekends were GREAT!! I don't have any pictures since my camera sucks!! (It drains batteries so fast that I'm fed up and refuse to use it!) Just imagine two outdoor weddings that could not have been any better!

This weekend, we have a busy schedule!!! The wedding invitations are being put together - assembly line style! I know it's early, but I will be so happy when they are done! Everything will be done and ready to mail out (when the time comes!) I will (using someone's camera) take lots of pictures of all the ladies having fun - No boys allowed!!!

One project that I will be working on is a peg board (framed out nicely) that will hold my craft supplies. Currently, they all sit on my work station, which defeats the purpose of a work station. I will take lots of pictures (step by step) of that project as well! It will look similar to the picture below, but with my creative touches!

Veggies

Earlier this year, I planted a few vegetables. The picture below are two tomato plants. These plants have grown so fast! I would easily say they grew 4 - 6 inches a day!!! Each plant has several blooms where tomatoes will soon take their place!

In the back of the yard, I created a box just for vegetables. This year, I planted cucumber in the back and okra in the front. The cucumber is a vine, so Mike brought home this fence so that the cucumber had something to grow up.

Once the okra is ready to cut off the plant, I will pickle them! yum yum!! (I know some of you are probably grossed out by the thought of pickled okra, but it is so good!!)

Building Furniture

I recently became a fan of a blog called Knock Off Wood. The creator of this blog puts up designs to make home furniture - whether it is for tables, beds, bookcases, etc. She even gives you a shopping list when you go to the lumber store. Here are a few projects that I am dying to try!!!!

Look at this kitchen Island!! If only I had a bigger kitchen!

What a lovely farm style bed!!!!

I'll start on these once I really get some time - looks like any free time I get now through October will be spent on 'the wedding'.....

I want!

For those of you who have been to my house, you already know that I have a craft room - and if you have been a guest in my house, you have stayed in this room. I have moved furniture around, and added storage, but I'm still
not happy....

Here's what I want:

This office that can been seen at Knock-Off Wood (more on this site later!).
or this which can been seen at Remodelaholic:
I love the peg board idea!

Or even this one:

Mike said he would switch his 'man room' with me so that I could have the WHOLE room to myself (making the 'man room' one with the guest room). Time to go shopping for a peg board and get started!!!!!

Did you notice that banner at the top of the page?? Yeah - the one that is counting down to the wedding?!?! We have officially hit the six month mark (well, we did a few days ago!)

This month - I have to send out the Save the Dates, order the wedding invitations (as as you all know, I'm making mine!), and choose a florist.

I'm currently working on the Save the Dates which should be ready to mail this week - I hope!

I haven't talked to a florist.. probably should do that - Maybe this weekend since I have nothing on my calendar!! Whoa! Having an empty/nothing planned weekend is rare!

I really don't know what kind of bouquet to get. I worked at a florist for a few years, and I know what kind of flowers I don't want... but what about the ones that I like??

Maybe a white and green wedding bouquet?

Or maybe a colorful one??

Perhaps white with some color?

Remember me mentioning the engagement session that Mike and I had to model for?!?! Well here are a few pictures:

We drove about 45 minutes down to Crawfordville -what was the location?!? A random spot on the side of the road where old, rusty cars were laid to rest. We had a blast!! Can't wait to share the rest with you!
